Those responsible quickly agreed that the envisaged cooperation should provide for mutual invitations for English winners to Germany and for German winners to England.
The result, which is initially planned for one year, now presents the following constellations.
The winner of the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis (Gr. I) will receive an invitation to the September Stakes in Kempton (Gr. III) on September 7, 2024. The race has been run on Polytrack over a distance of 2,400 m since 2006 and served none other than Enable twice as preparation for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
The winner of the Princess of Wales’s Stakes (Gr. II) in Newmarket Giavelotto from Marco Botti’s stable receives an invitation to take part in the Grosser Allianz Preis von Bayern (Gr. I).
The winner of the Grosser Allianz Preis von Bayern (Gr. I), in turn, can receive an invitation to the Jockey Club Stakes (Gr. II) in Newmarket next year.
In addition, the winner of the Gordon Richard Stakes (Gr. III) over 2,000 m at Newmarket in 2025 will receive an invitation to the 2025 Grand Dallmayr Prize.
Munich’s Secretary General Sascha Multerer commented on the cooperation: “It is our job to ensure that the seven German Group 1 races retain their status as races in the most important European category. However, as the races are becoming increasingly difficult to fill and the competition for Group 1 starters is not getting any smaller, the German racing clubs must do something to position themselves appropriately among the big names. It is not always just a matter of the prize money. The awareness of the German Group 1 races can also be increased through cooperation and the Jockey Club was a logical contact for us. We are therefore happy to be able to offer participants in the German and English races additional interesting starting opportunities.”
