Deadline for entries for the Grand Dallmayr Prize 2023

Best nominal result in years

The shortened entry deadline for the Grand Dallmayr Prize 2023 leads to the desired goal – more entries from both domestic and foreign starters.

For the first time this year, there was a shortened entry deadline for the Grand Dallmayr Prize (Gr. I) on July 30th. The Munich Racing Club wanted to receive a larger number of entries from abroad in order to maintain the Group I status of the Grand Dallmayr Prize, which is in acute danger, through strong starters. After today’s entry deadline, a first stage success can be recorded. A total of 36 entries were submitted for the sporting highlight of the “biggest coffee party in the world”. In addition to the winners from previous years, Skalleti and Sammarco, the list also includes Munich’s Mendocino and Fantastic Moon as well as numerous foreign names. Almost half of the entries are horses from France, England and Ireland. The Munich Racing Club and Deutscher Galopp are satisfied with the decision to shorten the entry deadline, because this year’s entry result is the best in years and 24% better than last year.

Sascha Multerer (General Secretary of the Munich Racing Club eV) said: “We knew that we had to do something to make the Grand Dallmayr Prize attractive for international starters. The shortening of the entry deadline has brought us some interesting entries, which could ensure a correspondingly good rating this year. Now we hope for an attractive and numerically strong field in order to achieve the required mark after the race.”

So look forward to an exciting race day on July 30th from 11:20 a.m. in Munich-Riem. The supporting program is also impressive and thanks to our partner Dallmayr, it will be “the biggest coffee party in the world” as in previous years.
