Farewell to Filip Minarik

The Munich Racing Club mourns

The former German jockey and four-time German jockey champion, Filip Minarik, has left us far too early. The Munich Racing Club and the entire German gallop community are in mourning.

The Munich Racing Club is in mourning. As was announced today, Filip Minarik, one of Germany’s most famous jockeys, passed away yesterday, Monday. He also left his mark in Munich with numerous victories. His greatest successes in Riem include victory in the 2015 Grand Dallmayr Prize with Guiliani and his four victories in the Grand Prix of Bavaria. With his successes in 2012 (Temida), 2014 (Ivanhowe), 2015 (Ito) and 2017 (Guignol), he is the most successful jockey in the Grand Prix of Bavaria. He also won the German Jockey Championship four times. His 1,660 victories speak for themselves.

After his accident in 2020, he fought his way back and acted as an ambassador for German horse racing. Filip leaves a big gap not only in horse racing!

Filip, we will miss you very much in Munich-Riem!
