Two Munich horses caused a sensation over 3,200 meters. Leonello, trained by Werner Glanz and ridden by Adrie de Vries, won directly after the Derby ahead of the mare Diana trained by Jutta Mayer (ridden by Martin Seidl).
In the Group III race for mares, New York City with Rene Piechulek was only narrowly defeated and came third for Sarah Steinberg.
Jutta Mayer can look back on a successful weekend anyway:
a second place for Schwarz Blau and a fifth place for Wonderful World on Thursday as well as a third place for Najem Shalghoda on Saturday and a fourth place for Chipping Away are now in Jutta Mayer’s statistics after the meeting.
