There couldn’t be a better starter field: 11 horses from Germany, England and France don’t only are a great number of starters but also mean a high quality starting field for the 155,000 Euro Group I race (2,400 m). “This will be a great race and a race day as great as, I’m sure of that”, says CEO Sascha Multerer.

All nine races will be thrilling: There will be a BBAG Auktionsrennen (52,000 Euro) for two yo over 1,600 m. The races 5 – 8 are part of the World Pool in Hong Kong and will be watched by millions.

class on all levels

The race day promises high class on all levels and proves, that the decision to have the second Group I race in Munich late in the year was totally right. It’s not only the last Group I race of the year in Germany but also in Europe.

All hopes for a German win lay on the 4 year old Straight from Gestüt Karlshof. Since he moved from Northern Germany to his new trainer Marian Falk Weißmeier in Mülheim an der Ruhr the stallion seems to be turned. He showed that he’s talented a while ago but since his win in the Union-Rennen (Gr. II) in June 2023 he couldn’t really stand up. Now he seems to be back: A good second place in the Preis von Europa (Gr. I) in september, when he was really close to globetrotter Rebel’s Romance was followed by a Gr. II-win in Milan.

Lordano, trained by Marcel Weiß or Assistent, trained by Henk Grewe are promising underdogs. They both show constant performances but need to prove that they fit in the hightest class.

When you look at the winning horses of the last couple of years, you will see that the international starters are always from high quality. Last years winner Junko could also win at the international races in Hong Kong. Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, who won with Junko in Munich will now ride Staight on Sunday. He could win the hattrick, as he also won in 2022 with Tünnes. Junko is trained by the French André Fabre, who is bringing the 4 yo Marquisat on the track in Munich. The stallion became second behind Junko in June and a couple of weeks ago he became third behind Goliath, one of the best horses right now.

Marquisat is not the only Godolphin horse in Munich: Also the 3 yo Ancient wisdon, trained by Charlie Appleby will be starting on Sunday.

Sir Marc Prescott won the Großen Allianz Preis von Bayern three years ago with Alpinista, who then won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in the following year. On Sunday he will start the 4yo mare Tiffany, who is already known in Germany as she already won 3 times in Germany. She will be ridden by Luke Morris, the jockey who also won with Alpinista.

Other internationally know jockeys will be: William Buick, Mickael Barzalona and the British talent Billy Loughane. New German champion Thore Hammer-Hansen and of course local hero René Piechulek will ride in the Große Allianz Preis von Bayern.
