Big Dallmayr race day with many attractions and the derby winner from Riem

There will be great sporting action, but also plenty of entertainment: free Dallmayr coffee, the Dallmayr children’s land with pony rides, bouncy castle, puppet theater and face painting. And of course the coveted raffle for the Munich delicatessen’s gift baskets.

Nine starters in the Grand Dallmayr Prize
In terms of sport, nothing is left to be desired. The Grand Dallmayr Prize over 2,000m, one of only seven Group I races in Germany, with prize money of 155,000 Euro, has a strong field of nine starters. It is the opportunity for the current Derby year group to meet the older horses at the highest level. Wintertraum , trained
by Waldemar Hickst , who came sixth in the German Derby, and Penalty, prepared by Henk Grewe , are the two three-year-olds in the field. We are particularly excited about Penalty, who celebrated his first Group victory in the Preis der Wirtschaft in Dortmund in June. In the saddle is Thore Hammer-Hansen , who won the Derby this year with Palladium. The current Derby winner is not in Riem, but the local hero and last year’s Derby hero, Fantastic Moon , is. The four-year-old stallion is trained by Sarah Steinberg in Munich and, as always, ridden by her partner Rene Piechulek , who won Europe’s most important horse race, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, with Torquator Tasso in 2021. Fantastic Moon is likely to start as the favorite – despite strong competition from France: The five-year-old Calif from the stable of Carlos and Yann Lerner has just won a Gr.III race in Paris and is hoping for a victory at the highest European level in Munich.

Top supporting program with listed races and top handicap
The sporting supporting program on Dallmayr race day also meets the highest standards. Above all there is the Konrad Werner Wille Memorial , a listed race over 1,400m for mares with prize money of 25,000 Euro. The top English rider Hollie Doyle will ride the three-year-old mare Havana Ball , trained by Archie Watson , who won a similar race in Hanover in May. 13 mares, including two from France, will be taking part. In this race there will be a four-way bet with a guaranteed payout of 10,000 Euro. The two-year-olds will kick off at 11:15 a.m. in the Dallmayr Ethiopia Race over 1,400m. The favorite is Lord , prepared by Andreas Suborics , who has already won his debut. The Dallmayr Prodomo Trophy is a Handicap I race over 1,600m with prize money of 20,000 euros and nine starters. The Handicap III race over 2,000m attracted 13 horses. Like the Grand Dallmayr Prize, the Dallmayr Crema d’Oro race is bet on worldwide via the World Pool of the Hong Kong Jockey Club . The first five races of the day, however, are part of the betting offer of the French betting provider PMU . “World Pool and PMU – the Dallmayr race day can therefore be followed by millions of people around the world,” says the managing director of the Munich Racing Club, Sascha Multerer. For German bettors, there is also the V4 bet, which is popular in Riem. In races 2 to 5, the aim is to predict the winner: 11,111 euros in guaranteed payouts are on offer!
