There will be a special anniversary on Saturday at the horse racing track in Munich-Riem: The Munich Racing Club is celebrating 50 years of cooperation with LOTTO Bayern. “This is a clear expression of a special and valuable partnership,” emphasises the managing director of the Munich Racing Club, Sascha Multerer. “What sets our work apart is that we have many partners who are committed to us for the long term, and LOTTO Bayern is high on the list.”
After the international top-class sport of the Dallmayr Race Day two weeks ago, the race day itself will be all about grassroots sport, but also young talent – on two and four legs. Seven races will be held, and due to the cooperation with the French betting company PMU, which is taking the first five races into its betting program, the race starts early. The first start is at 10:45 a.m.
V4 and four-way bet with 10,000 each
In the Glücksspirale prize, which opens the race day, the two-year-old horses are in demand. Of the six participants over 1,000m, Sarah Steinberg’s mare Ice Baby, who came third on her debut in Riem, is likely to attract a lot of interest from bettors.
The third race of the day is the amateur race, the Ach was-Memorial over 1,600m with a total of eleven riders. There are always one or two talents emerging from the amateur camp for the professional sport. The 3rd race of the Bavarian Amateur Championship is also the entry into the V4 bet, which is popular in Munich. Here you have to predict the winner in races 3 to 6. Anyone who manages to do this can hope for the minimum guaranteed winnings of 10,000 euros.
The final race of the V4 bet is the LOTTO Bayern Grand Prix, a handicap over 1,600m with prize money of 13,000 euros, making it the most valuable race of the day in sporting terms. Half a dozen horses are competing, including two starters from the Czech Republic. In the previous race, the prize of the LOTTO 6 out of 49, a handicap IV over 2,200m, there are 10 thoroughbreds. Here the racing club also offers the four-way bet, where the first four horses must be selected in the correct order. The guaranteed sum here is also 10,000 euros.
Extensive children’s activities
A Munich race day would not be complete without a wide range of activities for younger race track visitors: children’s land, bouncy castle and pony rides are available to make the trip to Riem interesting for the whole family.
