HKJC World Pool for the first time in Riem

On two race days, Riem will be part of the HKJC World Pool

This year, the two Riemer Group I races, the Great Dallmayr Prize – Bavarian Breeding Race (July 28, 2024) and the Great Allianz Prize of Bavaria (November 10, 2024) are the focus of worldwide racing interest. For the first time, both races are part of the so-called World Pool, which was initiated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Riko Luiking, Managing Director of German Tote Service und Beteiligungs GmbH, delivered this good news to the Riem Secretary General in June. In addition to the two Group 1 races, Riem will also host five other World Pool competitions, which will have correspondingly higher prize money.
The prize money for the Handicap III over 2,000 m was increased from EUR 10,000 to EUR 20,000 for the race day surrounding the Grand Dallmayr Prize. The aim is to be able to present as large a field of starters as possible in order to meet the requirements of the World Pool and to further increase interest in Munich races.

Sascha Multerer said: “We are delighted that the World Pool will be visiting Riem for two race days, which shows that the intensive efforts to make German races part of this pool are having an effect. The Ausgleich III with 20,000 EUR is a highlight. The entry fee for the race remains the same, the prize money is doubled and seven prizes are paid out instead of five. A unique opportunity that should not be missed. We hope that all owners and trainers make use of this opportunity and that the Munich Racing Club can offer the World Pool an attractive starting field.”

The deadline for entries for the supporting program at the Grand Dallmayr Prize is next Tuesday, July 16, 2024, until 11:30 a.m. Late entries are possible.
