Blog | 06.05.2024  – As a racehorse, he was a stroke of luck for Helmut von Finck, because Soldier Hollow fulfilled the dreams that the Munich native had when he entered horse racing. He made 31 starts in his career, including 12 wins and 14 placings, earning total winnings of EUR 1,094,246.

Soldier Hollow celebrated two great moments in Munich, as he won the Grand Dallmayr Prize – Bavarian Breeding Race twice and galloped his way into the hearts of Munich’s galloping fans with top performances.

Soldier Hollow proved to be a real gem in his second career, as Helmut von Fincks Star became the international figurehead of German breeding as a stallion and produced numerous high-class offspring, including Derby winner Pastorius, Dschingis Secret, Ivanhowe, Weltstar and Serienholde, all of whom scored at Group I level.

On Monday morning at 8:30 a.m., Soldier Hollow closed his eyes forever at the Auenquelle stud farm. Munich-Riem will keep an honorable memory of the great stallion.
