At the Longines World Racing Awards 2024, organized by the Swiss watch brand Longines and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the Juddmonte International Stakes in York was named the best race in the world. At the same time, the Longines World’s Best Racehorse was also the focus of attention. Here, City of Troy and Laurel River shone with a rating of 128, tied at the top ahead of Via Sistina (127) and the German co-owned Goliath (126) .

The ceremony took place at the luxury hotel The Savoy in London, and a live stream of the ceremony was released on several digital platforms. The Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings were compiled by international handicappers based on the horses’ performances in top races. The highest-rated race was determined by averaging the placings of the top four horses.
